ABC Medical Center offers free Internet access for patients, family members, and visitors. Hospitalized patients have a Username and Password that they can check from the telephone in the room; they must access the Internet ABC network.

During your registration, the Admission staff will request an email to send you your permanent username and temporary password.
Turn on the WIFI connection of your device and select the InternetABC network,
Enter your permanent username and temporary password.
We ask you to change the password for your security, it should be easy to remember and must contain:
a) At least 5 characters.
b) At least one uppercase letter and one lowercase letter.
c) At least one number
Enter our WiFi portal, where you can change and share your password or register your family members so they can have Internet access.
Patients and relatives in general areas can connect to the ABCFreeWiFi network without the need for a password.

On-Demand Video
We have a service called On-Demand Video, where you will have access to a movies catalog that you can watch during your stay, at no cost. Just press the menu button on your remote and it will take you to the service’s main page.

The Nutrition and Diet area will suggest a menu according to the diet instructions prescribed by your doctor.
If you prefer, you can request kosher, vegetarian, or according to your preferences by telling your nutritionist when ordering the menu. Check with your Treating Physician or with your nurse in charge if you require additional food so it is requested.

If you receive a voice message, it will remain stored for 24 hours in your room’s telephone mailbox.

Cellphones
For your safety, and because of the interference they could have with patient monitoring equipment, the use of cell phones is not allowed in specific areas such as:
- Intermediate and intensive care unit
- Intermediate and intensive Cardiovascular Care Unit
- Radiology and Molecular Imaging
- Emergency Room
- Hemodynamics
Recommendations from the Security department in case of receiving an extortion call:
- Do not answer calls from unknown or private numbers
- Do not provide personal data
- Do not provide bank details, if payment information is required, Cashier executives will come to your room wearing their ABC Medical Center identification badge.
- If you don’t know the caller, hang up
- Do not give in to their demands

One of them is located on one side of the bed board and the other is located in the bathroom. In both cases, when you touch it, a nurse will assist you through the intercom.
As an important part of your medical treatment, ABC Medical Center offers you different types of diets that help cover the nutritional needs that your Treating Physician requires to support your recovery.
Use of recliner
Seated
1. Set the recliner’s brake located on the front wheels of the sofa.
2. With the help of the Nursing staff, extend the footrest.
Lying down
1. Pull the side hand levers and push the backrest for a more reclined position.
2. To return to the initial position, with the help of the Nursing staff, place the backrest vertically.
Safe-deposit box
You have an electronic Safe-Deposit Box inside your room at no cost. We recommend placing your personal items in it.
Instructions for use
1. Press “#/REST”
2. Enter the personal code (4 digits).Enter the personal code (4 digits). A “beep” will be heard.
3. Re-enter the code to close. An acceptance tone will be heard.

When vacating the room, please leave the Safe-Deposit Box door open.
Belongings
We recommend that you avoid bringing valuables to ABC Medical Center.
The Outpatient Surgery area has lockers to protect your belongings (exclusively for Outpatient Surgery patients). If you enter through the Emergency Room and you are not accompanied by a family member, the Customer Service staff will keep your belongings safe until a family member or you are in the room or you are discharged from the hospital.
Glasses, dentures, and hearing aids
Eyeglasses, dentures, and hearing aids require special care. If necessary, ask your nurse for a container to place them. Please be careful not to forget them in food trays, on the bed, or somewhere where they can be damaged or lost.
IMPORTANT NOTE: ABC Medical Center is NOT responsible for the loss of valuables or personal effects.
Forgotten personal items are discarded for hygiene reasons.
Cleaning and maintenance
During the day, the cleaning staff cleans and removes trash from the rooms. If you have any special requirements or comments about this service, we ask you to contact ext. 2056 at Observatorio Campus and ext. 1153 and 1154 at Santa Fe Campus.
