MAGNESIUM IN URINE

Indications:

24-hour urine sample collection, only discard the first urine of the morning, starting the time count and collecting all the following urines, ending with the next day’s collection at the same time that the first urine was discarded.

What it's for:

Evaluation of the cause of abnormal serum magnesium concentrations using a 24-hour urine collection. Determine if the nutritional loads of magnesium are adequate. Calculate urinary calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate supersaturation and kidney stones risk assessment.
