Know the importance of a Check-up

24 February 2020

Did you know that cardiovascular diseases, brain diseases, as well as hypertension, occupy the first place among hospital discharges, and are the second cause of death within the group of non-communicable diseases?

According to data from INEGI and the World Health Organization (WHO), the main diseases in Mexico are heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, cerebrovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, which can be detected through check-ups and doctor’s visits.

One of the best ways to do this is through a Check-up, which consists of performing a series of tests and clinical examinations to evaluate the general state of your body.

Through a check-up, current and/or future conditions can be detected, even when they do not show symptoms, to initiate timely treatment that increases the chances of recovery and a better quality of life.

What can my doctor know through a check-up?

  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Gallstones
  • Kidney damage
  • Possible cancers
  • Lung diseases
  • Hypertension
  • Blood chemistry
  • Thyroid problems

Benefits:

  • Reduce the chances of developing any disease.
  • Detect and prevent future illnesses.
  • Improve the results of treatment.
  • Increase the patient’s life expectancy and improve their health status.
  • Reduce costs in the future.

Check-up frequency will be determined by your doctor based on your age and health or habits and your personal and family medical history.
