What is Dysmenorrhea?

It is an intense pain located between the pelvic area and the abdomen of women before or during the menstrual period. It is considered secondary dysmenorrhea when it appears in women over 30 years of age. The causes of its appearance are due to the presence of hormonal changes and/or some other disease such as endometriosis or ovarian cysts. Potential causes and risks: Although dysmenorrhea can appear spontaneously in women of any age, it is more common in those who smoke, drink alcoholic beverages regularly, and are overweight or obese.
