16:48 - 27 April , 2021

Disease

It refers to the inability to control urination or urine. It is a common condition that can be embarrassing for those who suffer from it since it has several levels; the most basic is to release a few drops of urine when coughing or sneezing, while the most serious is to experience an urgent need to release urine from the bladder that is impossible to control, letting out all the urine before reaching the bathroom.

Potential causes and risks:

The main causes and risk factors are diabetes, obesity, prolonged constipation, prostate problems, smoking, menopause, pregnancy, childbirth, birth defects, weakening of the urinary tract muscles due to age, and neurological disorders.

Signs and symptoms Urinary incontinence

Many people may have minor and occasional urine leakage. Others, mild to moderate losses more frequently.

Prevention factors

Although it cannot always be prevented, you can minimize the possibilities by following these recommendations:

  • Keep a healthy weight.
  • Perform frequent pelvic floor exercises.
  • Eat more fiber.
  • Avoid consuming foods that irritate the bladder such as caffeine, alcohol, and foods that generate heartburn.
  • Quit smoking.
