The appearance of tumors in the neurological field can trigger a wide range of sequelae or effects that will depend on the area in which they are located. For example, if the tumor appears in the frontal lobe it could alter motor functions; whereas if it appears in the frontal lobe, but on the left, language ability will be affected; or if it arises in the occipital, vision would be compromised.

Brain tumor diagnosis
Speaking of brain tumors, these can have varied symptoms during different periods, for example, a tumor can be three years old and have a benign behavior, or it can have a short time with a more aggressive behavior.
As a first step in diagnosing a brain tumor, we will request an MRI with a contrast agent, says Dr. Moreno, this will allow us to obtain different information on the composition of the tumor, indicating if it is cystic, if it has liquid, if it is solid, or if it has calcium, among other characteristics; which will help to have a more precise diagnosis.
Brain tumor treatment
A fundamental part of the treatment consists of removing the tumor; a small tumor is relatively easy to remove, unlike a large tumor, which is why early detection is so important, says Dr. Moreno.
After surgery, the tissue must be analyzed and, through a multidisciplinary approach, including neuropathologists and oncologists, the type of tumor will be identified, as well as the treatment to be followed. Treatment can range from outpatient surveillance with imaging studies to radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or some other type of treatment.
