How to present yourself to a Check Up

Show up with a 12-hour fast for your health assessment, which includes lunch. The nurse will tell you the best time to do it.

Check ups indications

  • Do not drink alcoholic beverages during the 24 hours prior to your health evaluation.
  • Eliminate intense exercise in the previous 48 hours.
  • On the day of your appointment, you should bring a stool sample (approximately the size of a walnut; this sample may be from the night before, as long as it is kept refrigerated). The urine sample should not be more than two hours old. You can request the containers in the Preventive Medicine department from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or buy them at a pharmacy (please, do not use glass containers).
  • Usual bath. Please do not apply powder, cream or deodorant to the breasts and armpits. It is very important to bring your previous mammogram, if you have one, to be able to do a comparative study.
  • If you wear glasses or contact lenses, bring them with you. If they are contact lenses, do not forget to bring your case to be able to remove them.
  • Please do not take the medications you usually take in the morning but do bring them. Notify the lab when your blood sample is taken if you are routinely taking medications.

You will be able to take them once your blood sample is taken.

  • Bring tennis shoes (to do your stress test).
  • Avoid bringing jewelry such as bracelets, rings, bangles, chains, etc.
  • Your nails should not have polish.

Procedure

  • Request an appointment at the Call Center of the Preventive Medicine department, at least two weeks in advance, as it will be subject to availability.
  • On the day of your appointment, you must report to the Preventive Medicine department at 6:45 a.m. Upon arrival, you must take a turn at the reception for your registration.
  • You must show an official identification (INE or passport).
  • In order to speed up the reception and registration process, we ask you to previously fill out the questionnaires and formats provided (please request your questionnaire at the Preventive Medicine department or at your company, if one refers you).
  • In case of being referred by insurance company or company, it is essential to present the authorization letter issued by them.
  • The duration of the health assessment is approximately 6 to 7 hours; it will depend on the package and your particular needs.

  • At the end of the health evaluation, the reception staff will indicate the date and time for the appointment to deliver the results. Do not forget to request it.

Results will only be delivered within one to three weeks of your health assessment.

  • For your peace of mind, in the event that any result is reported out of range and requires immediate attention, you will be notified within the first 72 hours after the completion of your health evaluation.
  • If you bring a car, at the end of your health assessment, you will be provided a courtesy for parking payment, remember to request it.

Pap test recommendations

  • Avoid using medications vaginally (ovules, creams, powders, etc.) 72 hours prior to taking the sample. In case of not being able to suspend the treatment, we recommend that you carry out the study three days after you finish it.
  • We recommend a period of sexual abstinence of 24 hours prior to taking the sample.
  • The best time to schedule your test is at least five days after the end of your menstrual period.
  • The test cannot be done during your menstrual period.

General Recommendations

  • Wear comfortable clothes.
  • Enter the Preventive Medicine area with a face mask.
  • Upon admission, we ask you to perform hand hygiene.
  • If you use glasses or contact lenses, bring only frame lenses, the above for your safety during the ophthalmological evaluation, if you bring contact lenses you will not be able to remove them.
  • Bring tennis shoes for the stress test.
  • Request an appointment at the Call Center of the Preventive Medicine department, at least two weeks in advance, as it will be subject to availability.
  • On the day of your appointment, you must be on time for your registration.
  • In order to speed up the reception and registration process, we ask you to previously fill out your forms through the Preventive Medicine APP.
  • If you are referred by an insurance company or company, it is essential to send the authorization letter digitally at least 24 hours before your appointment to the email cajampsfe@abchospital.com.
  • The duration of your check up will depend on the package and your particular needs.

Forms of Payment:

If you have medical insurance that includes payment of the health evaluation by reimbursement, we can issue a list of the studies that compose it, without mentioning unit prices. The invoice is issued for the check up and the respective price, without being able to modify it. Payment must be made at the end of your Health Assessment; if it is made by check, please make it payable to: The American British Cowdray Medical Center, I.A.P. and bring a copy of the identification of the person who signs it. The check must have a maximum issuance date of four days before your appointment. Checks with the words “new account” or “recently opened account” will not be accepted.
