How to present yourself to a Check Up
Show up with a 12-hour fast for your health assessment, which includes lunch. The nurse will tell you the best time to do it.
- No entry with companions is allowed.
- If you experience respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, and runny nose) and/or fever on the day of your appointment, we suggest seeking evaluation from your treating physician and rescheduling your appointment.
- Attend with comfortable clothing.
- Practice frequent hand hygiene.
- Arrive with a minimum fasting period of 10 hours and not exceeding 12 hours. Your Check-up includes breakfast; the nurse will guide you on the best time to consume it.
- Avoid alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior to your Check-up.
- Refrain from intense exercise in the 48 hours before.
- On the day of your appointment, bring a stool sample (approximately the size of a walnut; the sample can be from the previous night, as long as it remains refrigerated). The urine sample should not be more than two hours old; collect 10 ml of midstream urine in a container, preferably the first urine in the morning or after at least 2 hours of urinary abstinence. *For women: if you are menstruating or experiencing vaginal bleeding, it is recommended to postpone this study (do not submit a sample).
- Regular hygiene. For patients undergoing mammography, please refrain from applying talcum powder, cream, and/or deodorant to the breast, chest, and armpit areas. It is essential to bring your previous mammogram, if available, for a comparative study.
- For those using glasses or contact lenses, bring only frame glasses for the eye examination. If you wear contact lenses, for your safety, you cannot remove them during the assessment.
- If you take medications for hypertension, arrhythmias, or psychiatric conditions, do not suspend them. Take the medication at the usual time with a small amount of water.
- If you take medications for diabetes, do not take them, but bring the ones you usually take in the morning. You can take them once your blood sample has been collected.
- If your package includes a stress test, please consider the following recommendations: If you are taking heart or blood pressure medications, especially beta-blockers, calcium antagonists, or digoxin, consult with your cardiologist beforehand about the possibility of discontinuing them so that you can undergo the test, and your results will not be affected.
- If your package includes a simple spirometry, please consider the following recommendations: Avoid smoking for at least 12 hours before the test. If you use bronchodilator medications (inhaled or taken), avoid the last administration. Avoid consuming coffee and tea for at least 4 hours before the test.
- Do not wear jewelry such as bracelets, rings, bracelets, chains, etc.
- Do not wear nail polish.
- Request an appointment at the Call Center of the Department of Preventive Medicine, at least two weeks in advance, as it will be subject to availability.
- On the day of your appointment you must report to the Preventive Medicine department at 6:45 a.m. Upon your arrival, you must take a turn at the reception for your registration.
- You must present an official identification (INE or passport).
- In order to speed up the reception and registration process, we ask you to previously fill out the questionnaires and forms provided (please request your questionnaire at the Preventive Medicine department or at
your company, if one refers you). - If you are referred by an insurer or company, it is essential to present the authorization letter issued by it.
- The duration of the health assessment is approximately 6-7 hours; It will depend on the package and your particular needs.
- If you do not wish to carry out a study included in the health evaluation, it cannot be deducted from the cost of the same or exchanged for another.
- At the end of the health evaluation, the reception staff will indicate the date and time for the results delivery appointment. Don’t forget to request it.
Delivery of results
- The results will only be delivered in a range of one to three weeks after your health evaluation.
- For your peace of mind, in the event that any result is reported out of range and requires immediate attention, you will be notified within the first 72 hours following the completion of your health assessment.
- If you bring a car, at the end of your health evaluation, you will be provided with a courtesy to pay for parking, remember to ask for it.

Select the Checkups Vaccines, Check ups option, then you can choose the Checkup package of your choice, and the corresponding information will be sent to you, in addition to the option to transfer you to an advisor. Service hours are Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 21:00; Saturdays from 07:00 to 15:00; Sundays and holidays are non-working days.
- Avoid the use of vaginal medications (ovules, creams, powders, etc.) 72 hours prior to taking the sample. If you cannot suspend the treatment, we recommend that you carry out the study from the third day after the end of it.
- We recommend a period of sexual abstinence of 24 hours prior to taking the sample.
- The best time to schedule your test is at least five days after the end of your menstrual period.
- The test cannot be performed during your menstrual period.
- On the day of your appointment, please arrive promptly for registration.
- You must present official identification (INE or passport).
- To expedite the reception and registration process, fill out your forms in advance.
- If referred by an insurance company or employer, it is essential to digitally send the Authorization Letter at least 24 hours before your appointment to the email:

- The duration of the check-up will depend on the contracted package and your specific needs; the average stay in the Preventive Medicine Department is approximately 6 hours.
- If you do not undergo a particular study on the day of your check-up, we suggest completing it within a period not exceeding 4 weeks so that the specialist can provide timely recommendations.
- At the end of your check-up, the reception staff will inform you of the date and time for the results delivery appointment. Do not forget to request it. Results will be delivered within one to three weeks following your check-up.
- To provide you with better service, be punctual for your appointments; a tolerance period of 10 minutes is allowed.
- For your peace of mind, in the event that any result falls outside the normal range and requires immediate attention, you will be notified within the first 72 hours following your check-up.
- If you have health insurance from insurance companies that includes check-up payment by reimbursement, we can issue a list of the studies comprising it without mentioning unit prices. The invoice is issued for the check-up concept and the respective price without the possibility of modification.
- Payment must be made at the end of your check-up; if paying by check, please make it payable to: The American British Cowdray Medical Center, I.A.P. and bring a copy of the signer’s identification. The check must be dated a maximum of four days before your appointment. Checks with the words “new account” or “recently opened account” will not be accepted.

- American Express: From 3 to 6 months* minimum amount of $1,500 pesos, from 7 to 9 months* minimum amount of $3,000 pesos
