Anti-Varicella

Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral disease characterized by the appearance of multiple outbreaks of typical lesions (papules, vesicles, and crusts) on the skin. It spreads through direct contact, with the virus present in the vesicles, and individuals can transmit the virus from one day before the skin lesions appear until all lesions have crusted over (7-8 days).

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

Active immunization for adults who have not had the disease, especially those at high risk and their close contacts.

Dosing Schedule:

Two doses, with an interval of 4 to 6 weeks.

COVID-19 Vaccine Comirnaty by BioNTech/Pfizer

Comirnaty is a vaccine that uses messenger RNA (mRNA) to instruct the body’s cells to temporarily produce the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This activates the immune response, generating antibodies and T cells. In the event of future exposure to the virus, the immune system is prepared to defend itself.

Dosing Schedule: Booster

Comirnaty 30 micrograms/dose concentrate for injectable dispersion is indicated for active immunization to prevent COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2.

Pneumococcal vaccines

Pneumococcal disease can cause serious infections in the lungs (pneumonia), the bloodstream (bacteremia), and the lining of the brain and spinal cord (meningitis).

Two vaccines help prevent pneumococcal disease:

Pneumoconjugate 13 (pneumococcal conjugate vaccine)
Pneumococcal 23 (pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine)

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

Active immunization for the prevention of invasive disease caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae in adults 65 years of age and older.

Scheme type:

*Two pneumococcal vaccines are recommended for all adults 65 years of age or older.

*One dose of Pneumococcal 13 vaccine should be given first, followed by one dose of Pneumococcal 23 vaccine, depending on your age and health.

Rabies

Human rabies is a viral disease transmitted by the bite of an infected animal. It is characterized by acute encephalomyelitis (an aggressive response of the immune system that destroys the myelin layer of the nerves and alters its function at the level of the brain or spinal cord).

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

Prevention of rabies in subjects exposed to risk of contamination. It is recommended for certain international travelers, based on the occurrence of animal rabies in the destination country.

Scheme type:
There are two types.
1. Pre-exposure scheme, consists of three doses of rabies vaccine:

First dose, on the chosen date.
Second dose 7 days after the first dose.
Third dose 28 days after the first dose.

2. Post-exposure scheme, people not vaccinated against rabies, consists of five doses of rabies vaccine.

First dose, on the date indicated.
Second dose 3 days after the first dose.
Third dose 7 days after the first dose.
Fourth dose 14 days after the first dose.
Fifth dose 28 days after the first dose.

* If the individual continues to be at risk of exposure to the disease, revaccination should be considered.

Anti-Herpes Zoster

Herpes zoster is a painful, burning rash. It usually appears on one part of the body and can last for several weeks. It can cause long-lasting severe pain and scarring. Bacterial skin infections, weakness, muscle paralysis, hearing or vision loss may occur less frequently. Herpes zoster is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you have had chickenpox, the virus that caused it remains in the body of nerve cells. Sometimes after many years, the virus becomes active again and causes herpes zoster.

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

Immunization of patients from 50 years of age for the prevention of herpes zoster and post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN), reduce pain associated with acute or chronic herpes zoster.

Seasonal flu

Influenza is a potentially serious illness that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes death. Each flu season is different, and infection with the virus can affect people in different ways. Vaccination has been shown to have many benefits such as reducing the risk of influenza illness, hospitalizations, and even related pediatric deaths.

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

Immunization against disease caused by influenza viruses types A and B, who, because of their age or medical condition, have an increased risk of complications from influenza, medical personnel and others (including family members) in close contact with high-risk people.

Scheme type:

Single dose, seasonal.

Yellow fever

Yellow fever is a disease caused by a virus transmitted by the bite of a mosquito that is found in the tropical and subtropical regions of South America and Sub-Saharan Africa. There is currently no specific treatment for this disease; however, a vaccine has been developed that provides effective protection.

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

People who travel, even for a short time, to endemic areas or who live in them, people who are professionally exposed.

Scheme type:

Single dose, revaccination every 10 years.

*The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before entering an endemic area for immunity to be greater than 98%.

Human papilloma

The human papillomavirus (HPV) is generally transmitted through sexual contact, so sexually active men and women are infected with HPV at some point in their lives. Some types of HPV cause warts or papillomas, which are non-cancerous tumors. However, some types of HPV are known to cause cancer. HPV causes most cases of cervical cancer, as well as many cancers of the vagina, vulva, anus, penis, and oropharynx (cancer of the throat and tongue).

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

Prevent infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV 16 and 18)

TDAP (Tétanos, Difteria, Tosferina Acelular)

Booster vaccine that protects against diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis (whooping cough).
It can be used when managing wounds with the possibility of tetanus infection in people who have previously received a primary vaccination series with tetanus toxoid vaccine.

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

Booster vaccination to prevent tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis in adults.

Postpartum prophylaxis, prenatal prophylaxis and after a threatened abortion.

Triple Viral

Measles, mumps, and rubella are viral diseases that can have serious consequences.

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

Health personnel.
Anyone who plans to travel to a foreign country.
Anyone who has recently been in contact with someone who has measles, mumps, or rubella.
Anyone who lives in areas where measles, mumps, or rubella are common or where there is an outbreak.
Anyone who has not received the triple vaccine.

Scheme type:

Single dose.

*Adults born during or after 1957 may need 1 or 2 doses with an interval of at least 4 weeks between each.

Hepatitis A

Very contagious liver infection caused by the hepatitis A virus, its course can be mild or even fulminant, with variable duration. It is transmitted by consuming contaminated food or water.

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

Active immunization against hepatitis A virus infection in people at risk of exposure:

Residents in high or intermediate risk endemic areas, or who report outbreaks of Hepatitis A.
Travelers moving to areas where the prevalence of hepatitis A is high.
Individuals at professional risk of hepatitis A or at high risk of transmission: medical, paramedical, and nursing personnel in hospitals and institutions, wastewater workers and food handlers, among others.
People with chronic liver disease.
People with a history of bleeding disorders.
Having sex with people of the same sex
Who use injection drugs.

Scheme type:

Two doses.

*First dose, on the chosen date.
*Second dose from 6 to 12 months after the first dose.

Hepatitis B

It is an infectious and transmissible disease that seriously affects liver functions and can progress to chronicity. The hepatitis B vaccine can prevent this disease and its consequences, including liver cancer and liver cirrhosis.

Vaccination is indicated in the following cases:

Active immunization of non-immune adults against hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection caused by all known subtypes, in people at risk of exposure:

Hemodialysis.
Home contact, accidental exposure, professional exposure, sexual contact.
HIV patients.
Immunocompromised patients.
