Call for Applications
TheABC Medical Center and theHigher School of Physics and Mathematics at the National Polytechnic Institute, announce the call to fill two vacancies for medical physicists interested in undertaking clinical training in radiotherapy through the Diploma in Clinical Medical Physics (Specialization in Radiotherapy and/or Nuclear Medicine), with a duration of six/twelve months. Vacancies are available in both specialties. With an option to pursue training in both specialties over twelve months. Preferences may be defined during the interview.
Important Dates:
- Submission of applications: January 1 to 12, 2024.
- Notification of the outcome of applications: January 15, 2024.
- Theoretical exam and interviews: January 18 and 19, 2024.
- Training start date: February 1, 2024.
- Training completion date: July 31, 2024, or January 31, 2025, depending on the specialty.
Requirements for Application:
- Hold a master’s/doctorate degree in medical physics, physics, or physical mathematics.
- Availability for six hours daily, Monday to Friday. Morning shift from 7:00 to 13:00 hours or afternoon shift from 13:00 to 17:00 hours.
- Take a theoretical exam on medical physics knowledge in the area of radiotherapy.
- Attend an interview with the Head of the Radiotherapy Department and the program coordinator.
- Accepted applicants will be registered as occupationally exposed personnel (OEP) with the CNSNS. Therefore, they must provide documentation certifying completion of the radiation protection course at the OEP level or as a radiation safety officer endorsed by the CNSNS. If not already obtained, we will facilitate the management of the course, and the cost must be covered by the applicant.

Partial evaluations will be conducted to ensure regularity. The programmed content includes theoretical and practical components, along with online continuous education supplements.
Applicants must complete a comprehensive theoretical-practical program in radiotherapy and/or nuclear medicine, meeting the CNSNS requirements to practice as a clinical medical physicist in radiotherapy and nuclear medicine. Additionally, it must align with the recommendations for the training of clinical medical physicists by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Documentation Required for OEP Registration Processing:
Accepted applicants must submit the following documentation to generate OEP registration with the CNSNS:
- Copy of official identification.
- CURP (Unique Population Registry Code).
- RFC (Taxpayer Registration).
- Two passport-sized photos in black and white or color.
- Copy of proof of address.
- Copy of certificates related to training and experience in radiation safety.
- Certificate of historical record of personal dosimetry (if applicable).
- Laboratory test reports as specified in Appendix B of NOM-026-NUCL-2011.
