What is the cleft lip and palate program?
For them to have optimal development and a better quality of life, children with cleft lip and palate have access to specialized treatments and multidisciplinary support through the High Specialty Program offered by ABC Medical Center.
The purpose of the program is to identify and initiate a multidisciplinary treatment for patients with cleft lip and palate in children of economically vulnerable communities.
Entry Criteria
The program is designed for children with Cleft Lip and Palate.
- Age equal to or less than 10 years.
- Current residence in Mexico.
- Meet socioeconomic criteria.
- No serious neurological or cardiological conditions.
- If you meet these criteria, submit a clinical summary or previous tests.
Services included in the Program
- Appointments with pediatricians, nutritionists, dentists, orthodontists, psychologists, and plastic surgeons.
- Laboratory and radiology and molecular imaging tests, according to their treatment.
- Dental devices and prostheses.
- Hospital care (includes food for the patient and family member).
- Surgeries.
The Program does not include the following
- Medications and support equipment such as oxygen tank or concentrator, wheelchair, walker, crutches, or sling to take home.
- Emergency service not related to the condition.
Conclusion of the Program
Patients may continue to receive the services stipulated in the program until the end of the treatment, which is determined by the Surgery area.
The staff of the Salud Incluyente y Educación, Brimex, and Amistad clinics will NEVER call you for an appointment, workshops, or therapies outside ABC Medical Center facilities, if so, please notify the Social Work staff.
Remember that for your child’s treatment to be successful we need your commitment to go to the appointments and follow the doctors’ instructions.
