-Assessment of hypogonadism and oligomenorrhea in women.
-Ovarian status assessment, including follicle development, for assisted reproduction protocols (for example, in vitro fertilization).
-Along with luteinizing hormone measurements, monitoring of estrogen replacement therapy in hypogonadal premenopausal women.
-Feminization assessment, including gynecomastia, in men.
-Estrogen-producing neoplasms diagnosis in men and, to a lesser extent, in women.
-As part of the diagnosis and study of early and late puberty in women and, to a lesser extent, in men.
-As part of the diagnosis and treatment of suspected sex steroid metabolism disorders (e.g., aromatase deficiency and 17 alpha-hydroxylase deficiency).
-As an adjunct to clinical assessment, imaging studies, and bone mineral density measurement in fracture risk assessment of postmenopausal women and, to a lesser extent, older men.
-Follow-up of low-dose female hormone replacement therapy in postmenopausal women.
-Antiestrogen therapy monitoring (e.g., aromatase inhibitor therapy).
