What is Amenorrhea?

It refers to symptoms in women of childbearing age, whose main characteristic is the absence of menstrual period. Amenorrhea, although present during pregnancy, lactation, or after entering the menopausal stage, could also be associated with other reasons that may account for an underlying health problem.

Causes and risk factors:

There are many possible causes, including hormonal changes, genetic predisposition, or due to other diseases.

Some of the main risk factors for amenorrhea are family history, sedentary lifestyle, and obesity.

Signs and symptoms Amenorrhea

In addition to the absence of menstrual period, amenorrhea can cause severe headaches, fatigue, visual problems, hair loss, or excessive development of facial hair. 

Diagnosis and treatment Amenorrhea
