What is Inflammatory Syndrome in Children?

13:15 - 13 February , 2024

Disease

It is a disorder characterized by tissue and organs inflammation, which often requires specialized hospital treatment.

Inflammatory syndrome in children is linked to a COVID-19 complication, although studies continue to be performed to determine its origin and the potential risks of suffering from it.

It usually occurs two months after being infected with coronavirus, having suffered an infectious disease, or being in contact with a family member who is sick with this virus.

Children between 5 and 11 years old are the most likely to develop this disorder, although there have also been cases of younger children, babies, and adolescents.

Without early diagnosis and proper treatment, inflammatory syndrome in children can cause serious problems in vital organs.
