Diagnosis and treatment Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome

After the doctor analyzes your symptoms and clinical history, they will perform a physical examination and request a series of tests to help confirm the diagnosis, including:

  • Electromyography (EMG).
  • Blood tests.
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
  • Computed Tomography (CT scan).
  • Nerve conduction velocity (NCV).

The treatment aims to alleviate the symptoms through drugs that inhibit the immune system response and increase the release of acetylcholine from nerve cells, as well as anticholinesterases to help improve muscle tone.

Additionally, plasmapheresis can be useful in the treatment of this pathology.
