This process utilizes sensor-equipped catheters to record electrical signals across multiple areas of the heart. As the name implies, mapping generates a detailed 3D map showing how electrical impulses propagate, identifying the precise focal points causing the arrhythmia. Cardiac Ablation
Cardiac ablation is a therapeutic procedure often performed alongside an electrophysiology study to treat heart arrhythmias. Specialized catheters are guided into the heart to deliver targeted energy (such as heat or cold) to specific areas, creating tiny scars. This scar tissue blocks abnormal electrical signals and helps restore a normal heart rhythm.
