The most obvious manifestation is the presence of a bump, either flat or in the shape of a cauliflower, in the genital area or the oral cavity. In women, the presence of genital warts is more common in the vagina, anus, or mouth.
Sometimes, itching may appear in the area together with the presence of warts, as well as a more intense vaginal discharge.
The diagnosis will be made after a physical examination, and/or through complementary tests such as a colposcopy or HPV DNA tests. Your ABC doctor may prescribe drugs or wart removal by cauterization, surgery, or freezing.
