What is Menopause and climacteric?

Menopause is when the ovaries stop working properly and menstruation disappears, while the climacteric refers to a more extensive concept that covers the entire period from when the first symptoms of transition from the reproductive to the non-reproductive stage begin (4 to 6 years before menopause), including menopause.

The climacteric usually begins after the age of 40 and 45, while menopause usually occurs between the age of 45 and 50.

Generally, no type of study is necessary to diagnose, but due to the symptoms, in some cases blood tests can be done to rule out other conditions.
